Amy: for Allen!
I'm a North Texas girl, born and raised, and my family and I have made Allen our home for the better part of twenty years. We've seen a lot of changes, as our City has welcomed new people from all walks of life, including the building of a thriving business community offering a diverse range of services and employment opportunities for our residents. Our City has opened exemplary new civic attractions and public spaces, and Allen's School District, one of the finest in all of Texas, has broadened and strengthened its programs and resources for our children. Our civic leadership has led the way, ensuring that Allen's character, opportunity, and vitality remains strong, and that our future continues to be bright.
Since 2008, I've worked to help our City grow and achieve in a variety of roles. I've served in PTAs at the elementary, middle school and high school levels, as a All-Allen PTA Member. I've been a volunteer coordinator for the Allen Escadrille Band Booster Association, and also with the Foundation of Allen Schools and the Allen Eagle Run. I'm proud to be a Rotarian, currently serving as Secretary of the Noon Club. I have Co-Chaired the Allen Rotary Christmas Parade multiple times, and have served as a member of the Board of Directors and President of All Community Outreach, formerly Allen Community Outreach. And I have been honored to serve on the Allen ISD Board of Trustees for over 11 years.
What has the last nearly two decades of civic involvement, working with and for the City of Allen and you, my neighbors and fellow members of this extraordinary community, taught me? That our great City and its people can accomplish anything we put our minds to... That our homes and schools and places of work are filled with exceptional people, full of ideas, energy and insight, and that inspiration is all around us, all the time. That our brightest days are ahead of us, and that when we work together to solve new challenges and realize our City's potential, there's nothing we can't achieve.
For all those reasons, I am excited to announce that I am declaring my candidacy to run in this year's upcoming municipal elections, for Place 4 on the Allen City Council! I look forward to meeting and engaging with you, and sharing my vision for the future of our City, over the next few months, and I hope you'll join me on this journey! We're going to do great work, together!
